Dinosaur Roar!

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit us last weekend, we had lots of fun.  The kids definitely keep them busy and the weather was perfect to play outside so I'm sure everyone was worn out by the time they left. We squeezed in a visit to a Dinosaur Exhibit, a backyard BBQ, kite-flying, buble-blowing, bike riding and more.

Here are some pictures from the dinosaur exhibit.  The boys were slightly hesitant in the beginning but soon warmed up to all the life-like dinos.  Ethan was maybe a little more weary of them while Alec was only scared of one that made a loud growling sound as he moved.

Ethan ready to start checking the place out:

Alec liked the dinosaurs "little arms" and pinched his hands together to mimic them:

Note to Alec

Dear Alec,

I just want to let you know that you have a serious (but reasonable) attachment to your Pillow Puppy.  It all started around Christmastime, even though Pillow Puppy has been lying around the house for over a year.  You love on Pillow Puppy all day long, and fortunately, we don't have to bring him along when we leave the house because that would somehow manage to be a disaster.  But just in case you ever decide you'd like to bring him along, I found for you a mini Pillow Puppy (which you now carry around in addition to the regular sized one).  You call them "Daddy Pillow Puppy" and "Baby Pillow Puppy".  Ethan argues that the daddy is really a mommy but you've got your mind made up.

I love that you have a comfort item that makes you feel better when you're feeling blue.  I love that you snuggle with him (or them, as it has now become) when you're sleepy and how there is simply no way in the universe that you'd ever go to sleep without them.  It's so sweet, just like you.

Btw (that means "by the way", by the way), what's up with day #4 of your NAP STRIKE??!!?  Daddy and Baby Puppy Pillow both told me they were exhausted and could use a good nap, maybe you should just do it for their sake.

Love,
Mom
