Flounders

The first summer in our new house we visited our neighborhood pool only a few times, it was just too hard with a 3 and 1 year old.  But THIS summer?  We're here a lot!

We like to hit the gym first thing in the morning and bring a packed lunch with us so that we can head right over to our pool afterward.  The kids love eating on their towels and then jumping in after.  Obviously, I don't adhere to the ol' wives tale of waiting 30 minutes after eating to swim.  But I remember my mom did (hi mom).

They both wear their puddle jumper life jackets, which we love.  Ethan has been getting a bit more brave lately, he likes to swim without it.  Nick or I have to be right next to him the entire time as he can't quite float, but he's working on it.  His favorite thing to do is run and jump off the side into the pool.  He even likes to dive, which looks more like a belly flop but shhh! don't tell him.

On the days we don't want to pack up and drive the 2 blocks to the pool, we just hang out in our backyard.  Between a sprinkler, baby pool, water table and hose...they're happy.  Sometimes I even skip the trunks for Ethan and let him run around in his boxers, he thinks that's pretty cool.

Alec generally always has on sunglasses or a hat.  He's a cool dude, you know.

This picture cracks me up.  I didn't realize there was a front and back to his swim diapers.  His little butt cheeks were hanging out all day long, so cute.
